New Board Emerges at CSACEFA Annual General Forum.

On the 16th of December, 2021, members of the Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for (CSACEFA), converged in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to hold the Annual General Forum (AGF) of the coalition. The AGF was widely attended with representatives from all the states of the Federation. The AGF is the highest decision making organ of the coalition. It is at the AGF that documents and governance matters are either adopted, rectify or reject.
According to the provisions of the constitution of the coalition, the Facilitating Committee who serve as the governing body of the coalition are elected in a democratic process by the AGF. Members of the FCs are first elected from the 6 Geo-political zones as Zonal Coordinators from among the States Coordinators. The emerged Zonal Coordinators, becomes members of the Facilitating Committee. The tenure of office of the FCs is a term of two years subject to re-election for another two years, after which cannot serve in that capacity again.
Among the FCs, the National moderator is elected. The Moderator serves as the Chairman of the governing board with designated responsibilities of overseeing the governance of the coalition.
The 2020, Annual General Forum (AGF) is so signify as it is the election year of the coalition. The elections as conducted brought on board new Facilitating Committee members and a National Moderator. The member of the FC are:

North -West Dr. Adamu Babale
North- Central Duke Ogbureke

Handing over to the elected National Moderator, the outgoing National Moderator, Mallam Kabiru Aliyu, while congratulating the board members, advised that the Work of the coalition is a selfless call to service. He however Urge the FC members, to strengthen the work of the coalition through meaningful engagement with stakeholders at community, local government, state, national, sub-regional, regional and global level. Mallam Kabiru said, with the increasing rate of out of school children in the country, the burden lies on the civil society organizations to ensure that all children return to school. This he said, can only be achieved if the government continues to build synergy with CSACEFA as a coalition of over 785 members spread across the country. Concluding in his speech, Mallam Kabiru, reiterate the need for members of the coalition to be transparent in all their dealings with stakeholders as transparency is the watch word of CSACEFA.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Babtunde Omole thanked the members of the coalition on the trust bestowed on him and other members of the FC, he then called on members to support the FC at all levels to bring CSACEFA to an enviable height. Omole said now is the time for every member to join hands together as we engage to ensure that we achieve quality and inclusive education for all, and education 2030 in this decade of action.
The present Board will pilot the governance responsibility of the coalition till 2022
